Architectural photography in unconventional venues for contemporary art.

Twin mirrored skyscrapers of Naples' Centro Direzionale overlooking a square with a drained fountain — Filippo Piantanida

Unconventional place for art is a project that aims to bring young contemporary art out of the venues normally devoted to it. It involves the participation of Italian and international artists, but the collaborations extend to all cultural sectors: music, poetry, writing, video, theatre. A common denominator across all these participations: youth and the will to create something completely different, based on the spontaneous collaboration of the groups and on the beauty and enjoyment that come from artistic creation. For this first edition, La Casa Agency made its own spaces available, normally not open to the public, where the artists' works find place in installations conceived for the different environments. The regenerative power of art is concentrated here to revive some of these buildings and prompt a new gaze upon them from citizens.

As regards the Landscape, our research starts from the analysis of its enjoyment by the subject (artist/viewer) and the role of the artist who portrays a portion of it. The landscape is understood here as a portion of space that exists only at the moment in which the viewer stands before it. It becomes objective only if there is a physical relationship between subject and nature. From a compositional point of view, the landscapes are made up of a series of different elements, not necessarily contiguous in reality but nevertheless present in a given environment. The human eye tends to recompose an image on the basis of a few known elements, and this is what happens with these landscapes.
