Fractals

The work Light and Shadow_2017, specially created for this exhibition, stems from the basic concepts on which Filippo Piantanida's Maps/Boundaries are based.

Keeping the aerial perspective of satellite photography and the "method" by which fragments, separate in time but next to one another in space, are reassembled, F. Piantanida is at present interested in the traces of still or flowing water, detectable on the earth.

As he sees water as a major source of life and a precious asset, the artist gets involved in a both metaphoric and visual research leading to images that appear to stem from an ancestral heritage.
